NBA Commissioner Says Sterling Ban Wasn't Personal

After banning longtime friend Donald Sterling from the NBA in April, NBA commissioner Adam Silver says there are no hard feelings on his end about the decision.

"On a personal level it was very difficult," he said to TMZ. "Its business and I think he understood that as well."

Silver made the call after Sterling was heard in a recording stating racist comments about African Americans. Silver also made it clear that he didn't want any members of the Sterling family in ownership of the Clippers.

It was reported Thursday that ex-Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer won the highest bid for the Clippers at $2 billion.
