Kanye West has movies on his mind this year. Besides the new project he has in the works with ‘American Psycho’ writer Bret Easton Ellis, the rapper will release a film based around his ‘Yeezus’ album and tour.
The Hype Williams-directed effort details West’s elaborate Yeezus tour, which concluded this month. A trailer for the film debuted on KanyeWest.com Thursday (Feb. 27). The MC gave no prior hints about the clip, which shows footage from his elaborate performances — face masks, Jesus, mountains and women included.
“Yeezus film directed by Hype Williams coming to theaters,” is the message posted on West’s official site. No official date for its release has been announced.
This isn’t the first time the director and the G.O.O.D. Music creator have collaborated. In 2010, they joined forces for Ye’s short film ‘Runaway,’ which was inspired by the song featured on his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ album.
