Another day, another Kanye West rant. After spewing vitriol at Sway Colloway and Charlamagne Tha God, Yeezy took aim at journalists and corporate America during his tirade at a concert stop in Newark, N.J., Saturday night (Feb. 15).
During his 11-minute rant, West went on the attack against critics who tried to stop his ingenuity. He took a brief moment to defend Drake’s criticism of Rolling Stone magazine and warned journalists to stop pitting rappers against each other or else.
“They always be trying to pit n—-s against each other and that ain’t going down no more,” he yelled. “So tonight it ain’t none of that, we love Drake, we love every motherf—er that put their heart into this motherf—ing music.”
He then added, “We gonna go after motherf—ers writing that negativity. Before they print s— like that, they need to check with me and him to see if it’s okay before they get ran up in they motherf—ing office. It only costs $250 [thousand] to beat your a–.”
Of course, that last line was in reference to a financial settlement he reached with a teen he allegedly beat up at a chiropractor’s office last month.
Elsewhere, West talked about the Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers selling out in 11 minutes. He also threw shots at Nike executives who are probably are tired of his rants by now. “You can’t stop my voice, you can’t stop my voice, he sang repeatedly via Auto-Tune.
In one hilarious diatribe, West also took aim at Apple CEO Tim Cook and his popular iTunes festival.
“Hey Tim Cook, the head of Apple, stop trying to get performers to play your festival for free, you are rich as f—, you are rich as f—,” he sings.
Despite his bitter criticism of journalists and corporate America, West did add that he’s quite happy with his life right now. Really? Go figure.
