Justin Timberlake made a splash when he returned from a eight-year hiatus with ‘Suit & Tie,’ and he continued the buzz with an extravagantly produced video for the song. Two platinum albums and almost a year later, it’s time to reap the awards.
‘Suit & Tie,’ which featured Jay Z, took the win for Best Music Video at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The clip beat Jay Z’s ‘Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film,’ Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ ‘Can’t Hold Us,’ Jack White’s ‘I’m Shakin’ and Capital Cities’ ‘Safe and Sound.’
Director David Fincher, who helmed the video, adds a Grammy to a resume that includes award-winning films like 1999′s ‘Fight Club’ and 2010′s ‘The Social Network.’ The black-and-white visual for ‘Suit & Tie’ was recognized for its sleek and classy depiction of well-suited decadence.
