Misao Okawa, recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest living person on earth, rang in her 116th birthday at a nursing home in Osaka, Japan, on Wednesday.
Okawa, who was born on March 5, 1898, became the world's oldest person back in 2013 after the death of 115-year-old Japanese woman Koto Okubo.
As of February 2013, her son and one daughter are still alive, ages 94 and 92, respectively.
