Questlove is diving into the book publishing world once more. The legendary Roots drummer has inked a new deal to pen another personal story.
Publisher’s Marketplace reports that Quest, born Ahmir Thompson, will debut a work of nonfiction. Grand Central Publishing will serve as publisher.
The new tome is a follow-up to Mr. Thompson’s critically-acclaimed memoir ‘Mo Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove,’ released in June 2013. Ben Greeman, who served as the author for that book, will also pen the forthcoming project.
‘Mo Meta Blues’ stirred up some controversy when Quest’s manager, Richard Nichols, gave commentary on today’s hip-hop as part of the book’s footnotes, citing music from 2 Chainz as “thematic narrowness.”
