The New 52


The New 52 is a weekly series conceived by HipNott Records/Doxside Music Group emcee MidaZ the BEAST that will run the entire course of 2014. Taking its name from DC Comics’ revamp and relaunch of their superhero books, each installment of The New 52 features a new or rare song from Doxside Music Group artists paired with an original illustration from Benjamin Goraj or DMG comic book artist Gift Revolver.


Mixing the intricate wordplay of DOOM, lyrical ferocity of Nas, and stylistic swagger of Raekwon, MidaZ has a knack for leaving a memorable impression on listeners through songs from his own catalog as well as on show-stealing guest spots. This unprecedented way of sharing music with fans follows on the heels of MidaZ’s 2013 official debut AU, which features guest spots from Planet Asia, Roc Marciano, Blueprint, and Sabac Red (Non-Phixion) as well as production from Oh No,Marco Polo, IMAKEMADBEATS, Paten Locke, and TzariZM.

Exclusive! Young Scooter Details Sharing Cell With Gucci Mane (@gucci1017 @1youngscooter)



Rapper Young Scooter opens up about sharing a cell with Gucci Mane, and recalls how they talked about getting out. He also speaks about Gucci not being on his new mixtape, but explains it's because "He's locked up, what's he supposed to do." Scooter adds that he wants to work with Gucci "when the time is right," and he just wants the Lemonade rapper to "focus on his situation right now."


When asked about Gucci's epic Twitter rant ruining relationships that he had with rappers like Waka Flocka and Rocko, Scooter claims that it didn't, because all the rappers that he works with know what kind of person he really is. Scooter adds that he's not worried about beef between Waka and Gucci because he's focused on the success of Black Migo Gang right now.


Two Men Released From Prison After Serving 21 Years In Jail



Antonio Yarbough and Sharrif Wilson, the men who were convicted in the 1992 murder of Yarbough's mother, 12-year old sister, and little cousin were freed after a DNA evidence proved that they were innocent.


In 1992, Yarbough was sentenced to 75 and Wilson 9 years to life in jail over the murders. Now both men int their late 30's spoke to CNN about the ordeal.


Another factor that played into their long prison sentence was Wilson providing a false confession about the crimes in exchange for a shorter prison sentence. In an interview with CNN Wilson says that he was terrified. "I was scared, afraid; I was lied to, manipulated into believing that I was going to go home, if I do tell ... what they said happened." Wilson was only 15 years old and Yarbough 18 at the time of their conviction.


Yarbough says he forgives Wilson and knows that he was manipulated because the same thing happened to him. When asked if he thinks the killer of his family will ever be found, he says that "It is in God's hands now."


Nick Cannon Says 'Drumline 2' Is Coming Out This Year (@NickCannon)



Nick Cannon's popular Drumline film is getting a sequel-right to VH1.


According to Vibe, Cannon was excited to share the big news with fans as he posted a special video on Instagram with the announcement. "Drumline 2. Coming to VH1 this fall."he says. This time around, the film will have a female lead who goes to school in New Orleans. The character, Dani Bolton from Brooklyn will help resurrect a drumline with her special talents.


No word on if Cannon or it's other stars Zoe Saldana and Orlando Jones will have cameos. Cannon with Dallas Austin will produce the film.

Snow Plow Blasts Man Right Off His Feet With Wave of Snow



Some poor sod in Brooklyn was walking along minding his own business when he had his morning ruined after a wall of snow kicked up by a plow literally knocked him off his feet.


The incident was caught by the security cameras of the adjacent car dealership, and the dealer owner said the snow hit with such force it broke the store's glass doors.

Tech N9ne Tackles Bullying in 'Fragile' Video Featuring Kendrick Lamar


Rapper Tech N9ne addresses the social issue of bullying his new video for ‘Fragile,’ which features Kendrick Lamar, ¡MAYDAY! and Kendall Morgan. The song appears on N9ne’s latest album, ‘Something Else.’


Directed by Anthony Devera, the clip features a narrative of a gifted high school violin player who gets bullied by his classmates. As the young man contemplates whether to go back to school, a fellow student helps him pick up the pieces of his fragile situation.


The topical storyline is intermix with N9ne and K.Dot venting their frustrations at music critics who nit-pick their craft. The rap duo spit their fiery lyrics inside an abandoned warehouse as ¡MAYDAY! and Kendall Morgan sing the aching chorus.


In April, Tech N9ne will embark on his massive Independent Grind Tour. The 70-city North American jaunt will start on April 9 in Springfield, Mo., and wrap up with two shows in Missouri on June 27 in Columbia and in Kansas City on June 28.
