Forbes Says Dr. Dre Isn't a Hip Hop Billionaire (@DrDre)
Dr. Dre is on his way to the Billionaire Boys Club but according to Forbes, he's a few million short.
According to TMZ, the Assistant Managing Editor for the Wealth section of the publication says Dr. Dre will have a net worth of $800 million after the Beats/Apple deal.
News of the producer's new wealth rose last week when it was announced that Apple was interested in purchasing Beats Electronics where Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre have respected shares.
Dre boasted in a video aside Tyrese about the deal and declared himself the first Hip Hop Billionaire.
After the staff calculated all of the producer's assets they claim that he won't be on the Forbes 400 list because he isn't a billionaire.
However, Dre may have the last laugh. The annual lists have gotten the publication in hot water. Back in 2013, supermodel Gisele Bundchen was audited by the IRS after Forbes declared her the highest paid model with a net worth of $42 million. The supermodel claims that Forbes was wrong in their calculations.
"It's sad, because the people who write these things don't have my bank account details," Bundchen said. "I do OK, I earn plenty, but not as much as they say."
