Exclusive! Lord Jamar Talks Black Owner Taking Over Clippers (@lordjamar)

Lord Jamar shares his thoughts on the possibility of a black owner buying the L.A. Clippers, and he believes there's more to it than just someone having a lot of money. He explains that the board has to approve the owner, no matter how much money they have, and likens the group to a fraternity.

The conversation then turns to wealthy athletes, as Vlad shares a story of a retired NBA friend who says no one in the locker room talks about business. Lord Jamar chalks it up to athletes being conditioned to care about material things, not starting businesses.

Rozewood Introduces 'The Ghost of Radio Raheem'

Digi Crate Records

Rapper Rozewood, like much of the Digi Crate Records roster, has a throwback sound. While he may currently reside in Atlanta, he originally hails from New York and that influence is evident. Offered up as a free download, ‘The Ghost of Radio Raheem’ perfectly represents Rozewood.

The project is boom bap to its core, with vibrant samples and hard-hitting drum breaks permeating every production. That should come as no surprise though with producers like Apollo Brown, the Snowgoons and Lex Boogie from the Bronx crafting the beats.

Rozewood is straightforward on the mic and doesn’t pull out any tricks here. He’s an adept storyteller who relies on his rhymes and gruff voice to paint the picture for the listener. He also enlists some help along the way from El Da Sensei, label mate Hus Kingpin and fellow ATL residents BIGREC and G.R.E.A.T Scott. This is album is tailor-made for those who need a dose of reality.

Dr. Dre Speaks On Beating Jay Z on Forbes Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artist List

Dr. Dre has one up on Jay Z. The super producer beat the lauded MC on Forbes’ wealthiest hip-hop artist list this year, but Dre isn’t too caught up on numbers — although he stands at $550 million while Hov is at $520 million.

As Dre was stopped on the street in Los Angeles, TMZ asked him about the ranking, which he admits he doesn’t focus on and has no interest in keeping track of which rap stars are rich or not.

“I don’t really care about any of that,” Dre shared. “Jay Z is my guy, man. I love him to death.”

Of course the two hip-hop heavyweights worked together in the past, and Hov even allegedly penned a few songs for the doctor, including his 1999 smash ‘Still D.R.E.,’ which still has one of the dopest piano riffs to date.

The Compton native also gave his opinion on purchasing the Los Angeles Clippers in light of Donald Sterling’s NBA ban.

“Absolutely. [I'm] thinking about it,” he revealed about putting money down on the team.

And hopefully either he or some other hip-hop personality will buy the team, because that’s the kind of shift in ownership the NBA needs.

Lil Za Says He Gave Girls Drugs Because 'They Love It'

After good news was released for Lil Za on his felony charges getting bumped to misdemeanors, Za had one reason why he would supply women with drugs.

TMZ got a hold of the court documents where Za says he would give women MDNA because they loved it. He also called the ecstasy "purple moon rocks" throughout the case.

Instead of jail time, Justin Bieber's friend has to perform 20 hours of community service, a drug program and stay out of trouble for a year.

The Game Working on Joint Project with Ed Sheeran (@thegame @edsheeran)

Game is preparing for a busy summer with crooner Ed Sheeran.

In an interview with MTV, the rapper shares how he and avid hip hop fan Ed Sheeran began their friendships which lead to a collaborative album.

"I'm working on a joint album with Ed Sheeran that we trying to drop probably end of the year, beginning of 2015," he said. "That is gonna be crazy. It happened with a tweet. He tweeted something about Jesus Piece, I responded, we exchanged numbers on the DM, and then we got in the studio."

Much like Chance The Rapper and James Blake's project, the two were positive and created material that the rapper is very proud of.

"We were just planning to record one song; we ended up doing like seven. Ed came up with the idea to start working on a joint album, and we started doing it," Game said. "That was like in five hours. We was just going. He was on that guitar. Acoustically, he's a genius, man, so when he does that, what comes out of me is songs like 'Dreams' and 'Hate It or Love It' and 'My Life.' The songs that we got, they're real songs. And I can't wait for people to hear 'em."
