Taco Bell Diner Choked and Beaten With Chair for Belching

A patron of a South Carolina Taco Bell told police he was choked and hit with a chair on Sunday after belching and failing to say excuse me.

Isaiah Morris, 20, was eating with a friend at a Taco Bell in Tega Cay when a man interrupted their lunch to ask if Morris "had just belched and not said excuse me," reports the Smoking Gun.

After Morris asked the unidentified man to repeat himself, he allegedly became infuriated. The man picked up a chair and struck Morris on the arm, then grabbed his throat and tried to headbutt him.

A Taco Bell employee was able to break up the fracas, and the man left in what was described as a white pick-up truck.

While responding officers noticed a redness around Morris' throat and a wound on his arm, it's doubtful the suspect will be brought to justice; the Taco Bell manager told police that "he did not believe that the surveillance cameras were able to record the incident."

The Tega Cay police Department has administratively closed the case pending further evidence.
