Twitter Reacts to 2015 Grammy Awards

The 2015 Grammy Awards are officially over. Music’s biggest night delivered both hits and misses and Twitter was there for every moment. Fans couldn’t stop tweeting over Beyonce’s mesmerizing rendition of ‘Precious Lord, Take My Hand’ (and the absence of Ledisi) and legendary singer Annie Lennox’s ‘I Put a Spell on You.’ LL Cool J‘s over-the-top hosting and Pharrell mimicking a bellhop for ‘Happy’ caused jeers, but Kanye West almost “pulling a Kanye” to give Beyonce the Album of the Year Award was brilliant.

Sam Smith was the overall big winner of the night, snagging four awards including Best New Artist and Song of the Year for ‘Stay With Me.’ Much to the chagrin of hip-hop heads, most of the rap awards were not televised. In the pre-show Kendrick Lamar and Eminem walked away with statuettes — Em took home Best Rap Album and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for ‘Monster,’ while K Dot snagged Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for ‘i.’ Interestingly, much talked-about nominee Iggy Azalea went home empty-handed in all categories and yielded more than her share of memes.

Fashion took center stage in what could be described as an “all black everything” night. From Beyonce to Nicki Minaj and Ciara, black gowns and suits took the lead while men like (a nearly unrecognizable) Rick Ross opted for blue. Luckily, Rihanna and Prince broke up the monotony and kept it colorful, rocking very bright and bold statement pieces.
