Kendrick Lamar's 'i' to Serve as Soundtrack for 2014-2015 NBA Season

Drake isn’t the only rapper with a penchant for the basketball court. Kendrick Lamar will get some face time during the 2014-2015 NBA season as a result of his new song ‘i’ serving as the soundtrack for ads promoting the league’s tops stars.


The 30-second video features clips of the best plays by the lauded basketball players including LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan. Meanwhile, Kendrick is filmed casually performing the song.


Shot by Turner Sports, the TV spot debuted on TNT on Fri., Oct. 17, and will also play on NBA TV and NBA.com.


Kendrick will also perform the song for a TNT Opening Week Concert to celebrate LeBron James’ return to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Oct. 30.


Presented by Samsung Galaxy Note 4, the show will take place outside the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, and parts of the performance will be televised on TNT before the start of the game.
