G-Unit Speak on Reunion, New EP + More on 'Ebro in the Morning' [VIDEO]

The boys are back in town. G-Unit made a stop at Hot 97′s ‘Ebro in the Morning’ show to talk about their reunion at Summer Jam as well as upcoming projects that are in the works.

On reuniting with G-Unit soldiers Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo and Young Buck, leader 50 Cent said that it took one phone call to get the crew back. Although there have been some heated words against each member, in the end, the reunion happened because they’re brothers.

When Laura Stylez asked why Game was not part of the reunion crew, Yayo interjected, “My view of the industry is there’s a lot of snakes in it. The Game is a snake that won.”

“It’s deeper than rap. It’s the streets, y’all don’t get it,” he added.

The interview then switched over to Banks as Ebro asked him about Bobby Shmurda’s track ‘Hot N—-,’ which uses the same beat from his song ‘Jackpot.’ The Queens rhymer insists that he has nothing against Shmurda and wishes him the best in his endeavors.

“I’m happy for him,” he said. “They are having fun, man.”

Later, 50 Cent also commented on Floyd Mayweather challenging him to donate $750,000 to the Mike Brown Foundation. “Ask him to read page 3 of Harry Potter, I’ll donate $750,000 for page 3,” he said.

Elsewhere in the 35-minute interview, G-Unit open up about their new EP, ‘The Beauty of Independence,’ and their full-length reunion album, which is slated for release in October.

In the end, G-Unit are happy to be considered classic artists to a new generation of rap followers.
