Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez Defeats Alfredo Angulo in 10th Round TKO (@CaneloOficial)



Saul 'Canelo' Alverez made his return to boxing since his first career loss to Floyd Mayweather by defeating Alfredo Angulo this Saturday in their non-title super welterweight fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV.


According to USA Today, Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KOs) landed 197 power punches to Angulo's (22-4, 18 KOs) 78 throughout the fight. Referee Tony Weeks stopped the match in the 10th round, much to the displeasure of the packed house at the Grand Garden Arena. Angulo with two swollen eyes, wanted to continue, but Weeks refused to let the fight go on. Angulo was also stopped in his last fight vs Erislandy Lara after his left eye swelled shut in the 10th round.


"The referee stopped the fight, not my problem," said Alvarez after the fight.
