While everyone was sleeping, Jay Electronica released a freestyle track featuring Jay Z. The two J’s jacked the Soulja Boy-produced beat that Drake rapped over for ‘We Made It’ and lyrically killed it.

What’s so refreshing about this freestyle is that Jay Elect and Hov are not rapping bulls— lyrics. The rap duo aims their lyrical vitriol to the naysayers who think they are irrelevant in the rap game. Rappers beware, this dynamic duo are not playing any games.

On the first verse, Jay Electronica spit religious and slavery themes while addressing the critics.

“The devil, the haters, the bloggers, the papers, the labels, they label me / They can’t relate to our struggle, my n—-, we came up from slavery,” he raps. “Roc Nation / Celebration / Motivation / Elevation / N—-, we made it / From slaves on the slave ship / Live from the cotton fields, straight to the spaceship.”

Then Jay Z steps in and addresses Drake’s recent critique of him. Apparently, the Toronto rapper feels that Hov can’t drop any real bars anymore unless it’s about art.

Well, he’s dead wrong.

“Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much I talk / Silly me for rapping about s— that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns they ain’t shot / And a bunch of other silly s— they ain’t got,” spits Jay. “N—- watch your tone / I come to court with black boxers on / Y’all hella jealous of my mellow tone / And I can black out at any given moment, I’m God.”

Watch what you say Drake, King Hov just gave you a warning shot.

Overall, this is a superb freestyle and it’s good to hear Jay Z return to his lyrical flow of his Jigga Man days.

Forget about a Jay Electronica solo album, we are now praying for a Jay and Jay collaborative album — ala ‘Watch the Throne.’

Press play and listen to the duo’s freestyle. Woo! They killed it.
