Internet Celebrates the Return of Lil Boosie with #BoosieHome (@boosieofficial)

In 2011 Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, plead guilty to three counts of conspiring to bring drugs into a penal institution. Judge Mike Erwin sentenced him to eight years in prison. Investigators said he tried to smuggle drugs into Dixon Correctional Center once and into Angola State Penitentiary twice.

In December 2012, Boosie's attorneys were able to argue that the drug ring charge was a set up. This was because the informant offered to provide codeine syrup for Lil Boosie, an admitted codeine addict, in exchange for his help.

According to a news report from the New Orleans' The Times-Picayune, Boosie was expected to be released from prison on August 18, 2014, but surprise surprise, the Baton Rouge native was released this Wednesday according to WAFB.

Twitter & Instagram wasted no time welcoming the rapper home with hilarious tweets and pics to celebrate. Peep the best of the best above.
