Miley Cyrus Delivers a Country Version of OutKast's 'Hey Ya' [VIDEO]

In one of the strangest remixes we’ve heard this week, Miley Cyrus gives her best rendition of OutKast’s 2003 hit ‘Hey Ya.’ The slowed-down version of the song was performed by the pop star during her Bangerz tour in Tacoma, Wash.

Miley’s remix is sultrier and less frenetic than the original — she adds some country flair to her effort too. The singer then transitions into another remake, the country classic ‘Jolene’ (made famous by her godmother Dolly Parton).

The pop star’s love for hip-hop has been no secret. In addition to befriending the likes of Wiz Khalifa and French Montana, the ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer has collaborated with Mike WiLL Made It extensively on her ‘Bangerz’ album.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, she shared that her music comes from a place of many musical inspirations. “I really didn’t want to make a hip-hop record, and I’m not trying at all to be a Rihanna or a Nicki [Minaj]….That’s not my vibe. When I was growing up, my older brother would sneak me Nelly CDs, my dad had me listening to Dolly [Parton] and Johnny [Cash], and my mom is a complete metal head. So this record is a weird mixture of all that.”

In OutKast news, the lauded rap duo are set to perform at over 40 festivals this year including Coachella and Drake’s OVO Fest, among others. Unfortunately, Big Boi recently crushed the hopes of fans who wanted a new project from him and Andre 3000 when he revealed that no album would be released as a result of their reunion performances.
