Kendrick Lamar Rocks the Mic at NBA All-Star Saturday Night

Kendrick Lamar headed down to New Orleans to perform at the NBA All-Star Saturday Night event, which aired on TNT. Before the evening’s Slam Dunk contest, the Compton rhymer hyped the crowd up with an energetic performance.

Dressed in a black hoodie and matching jeans, Lamar was sporting the Air Yeezy 2 “Red October” sneakers that Nike secretly released last Sunday.

The Grammy-nominated artist jumped right into his performance, doling out a medley of ‘m.A.A.d city’ and ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe’ from his celebrated album, ‘good kid, m.A.A.d city.’

During Lamar’s rendition of ‘Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe,’ several video screens were playing a visual of teenagers swimming by the pool and enjoying summertime activities. For people living in the snow-covered Northeast, summer can’t come soon enough.

Overall, K.Dot’s performance was a slum dunk.

For the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday night (Feb. 16), Pharrell Williams will hit the stage with special guests Diddy, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and Nelly during player introductions. Then at halftime, Janelle Monae performs along with Earth, Wind & Fire, Dr. John and other New Orleans musicians.
