Raekwon has been steadily making a name for himself outside of the Wu-Tang brand with his solo endeavors. Now the Chef has cooked up a new deal with Memory Lane Music Group and their unique division Scion Three Music.
The 44-year-old veteran rhymer has inked a worldwide publishing administration agreement with MLMG for his sixth solo effort, ‘F.I.L.A. — Fly International Luxurious Art.’
So what does that mean? It means that Rae will be collecting more C.R.E.A.M. in the future.
“Raekwon is a rap legend,” says MLMG President Mark Spier. “He’s been a driving force in the genre since the hip-hop explosion of the 90s, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with him.”
‘F.I.L.A.’ is scheduled to hit stores this fall and boasts cameo appearances by Rick Ross, Estelle, Snoop Dogg, A$AP Rocky and French Montana.
In addition, Raekwon will perform at the 10th anniversary of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival this Saturday (July 12). Fellow rappers Jay Electronica, Joey Bada$$ and the Pro Era crew are also performing at the event.
