Do for Love: Tupac's Cousin Raises $15 Million to Make Biopic

Tupac is arguably the biggest icon Hip-Hop has ever had. With John Singleton directing a new biopic and a Broadway play featuring his music just opening, the love and appreciation for 'Pac is pretty prevalent even 18 years after his death.

Tupac's cousin William Lesane has written his own movie about 'Pac's life and wants to pay homage to his fam by producing it for the screen. Lesane raised $15 million to shoot the movie in New Mexico; however, there are a few problems. First off, Singleton's team has their own film already in the works, and Lesane hasn't received word that he has rights to Tupac's music.

Lesane said in regards to the film: "The time has come to tell the real Tupac Shakur story, the movie his fans really want to see. Any movie that is produced about Tupac has to tell a truly great story with a bold statement attached. Our movie does that in spades...I lived this story with my cousin and paid tremendously for it."
